Sky-Watcher CQ350 Pro Mount with Heavy Duty Field Tripod
Sky-Watcher’s brand-new CQ350 is a fully GoTo equatorial mount that slots neatly between their EQ8-R Pro flagship and the ever-popular EQ6-R Pro, bridging the payload capacity gap for astrophotographers who demand a professional, observatory-grade setup without compromise.
Offered in two configurations-mount head only, or with a heavy-duty tripod-the CQ350 boasts an impressive 35 kg payload rating. This allows it to comfortably carry Sky-Watcher’s largest optical tubes, such as the Esprit 150ED Triplet Refractor or the Quattro 250P Imaging Newtonian, along with room for accessories, guiding systems, cameras, and filters.
The CQ350 also comes fully equipped with integrated power and connectivity options to keep cables organized and accessories powered. Onboard are four USB output ports, three 2.1mm center-positive power outputs, three AUX outputs, three AUX inputs, a USB-to-serial PC connection, a USB Type-B input, SNAP port, hand controller input, autoguider port, dedicated power input, and a secure 12V DC aircraft-style power connector.
Precision performance is delivered via 0.9° hybrid stepper motors, spring-loaded worm gears, and a belt + wheel drive system designed for smooth, accurate tracking. Locking RA/Dec clutches, large latitude adjustment knobs (easy to use with gloves), and a D/V dovetail saddle provide convenience and flexibility. The CQ350 mount head also shares compatibility with the EQ8-R tripod for maximum stability.
Sky-Watcher, a global leader in telescope and mount design, continues to evolve its engineering for serious imagers and visual astronomers alike. The CQ350 adds features such as mechanical hard stops, automatic homing, batch exposure functionality, the V5 SynScan controller with a 42,000+ object GoTo catalog, a robust counterweight bar with two 10kg counterweights, plus included SNAP and power cables.
Balancing portability with observatory-grade stability, the CQ350 is a powerhouse mount ready to support both rising astrophotographers and veteran imagers seeking a reliable, precision-built foundation for capturing the wonders of the night sky.
