True Doppler Tuning
The telescope’s True Doppler Tuning (Pressure Tuning) enables shifts toward and away from the observer, adding a three-dimensional effect to solar viewing. While prominences are only slightly affected due to their position at the edge of the solar disk, filaments and active regions on the Sun’s surface respond noticeably. Observing a filament near the center of the Sun, the user can Doppler shift from the filament’s base to its tip, effectively tracing the filament’s structure as it moves toward and away from you. This provides enhanced visual observation, imaging capability, and serves as a valuable research tool for dedicated hobbyists. The pressure tuning system adds a significant degree of precision, ensuring accurate tuning of the desired solar features.
