Lunt Solar 2" White Light Solar Wedge
The Lunt White Light Solar Wedges are designed for both solar white light imaging and visual observation. Each wedge includes a built-in ND3 filter, ensuring completely safe solar viewing or imaging. For visual observing, it’s recommended to further dim the brightness using a Polarizing Filter. To do this, place one Polarizing Filter on the bottom of your eyepiece and then rotate the eyepiece to adjust brightness according to your comfort level.
Lunt offers two sizes of White Light Wedges:
The 2” model supports 2” eyepieces and includes a 2” barrel for the focuser.
The 1.25” model supports 1.25” eyepieces with a 1.25” barrel.
The 2” wedge is best suited for refractor telescopes up to 6” in aperture, while the 1.25” version performs optimally with refractors up to 4” in aperture. If your telescope can reach focus using a standard star diagonal for nighttime observing, it will also be able to reach focus when imaging with a Lunt White Light Solar Wedge.
