The motorized mount operates in both Altitude and Azimuth, capable of slewing automatically and tracking more than 42,900 celestial objects stored in the SynScan handset’s extensive computerized database. With the added Freedom-Find™ Dual-Encoder technology, the scope can also be moved manually in either axis without losing its positional alignment, offering observers maximum convenience and flexibility. PARABOLIC PRIMARY MIRRORS
Equipped with precision-engineered Parabolic Primary Mirrors, these telescopes correct spherical aberrations typically found in ‘fast’ reflectors that use spherical mirrors. Each mirror is carefully parabolized to converge all light rays at the same focal point, producing sharp, high-contrast images rich in fine detail.
SKY-WATCHER DELUXE MIRROR COATINGS
In most reflectors, the mirror surface is coated with aluminum and then overlaid with silicon monoxide or silicon dioxide for protection. While silicon dioxide produces a tougher, longer-lasting finish compared to silicon monoxide, it requires advanced application methods and is therefore more costly. Protection is essential, as exposed mirrors are vulnerable to deterioration, which reduces image resolution over time. All Sky-Watcher reflectors come standard with multi-layer silicon dioxide coatings, ensuring maximum durability and sustained performance for years to come.
