It provides a convenient way to use a laser pointer as a telescope pointing aid or laser finder during astronomical observations.
Its height-adjustable design allows the laser position to be configured according to the telescope setup. The bracket can be kept close to the optical tube on SCT-style telescopes or raised to provide a more convenient position near the focuser on Newtonian telescopes.
Equipped with a standard Synta-style finder shoe interface, the bracket can be installed on a wide range of telescope setups using a compatible Synta finder base.
Different telescope designs require different finder positions. The adjustable-height construction of the Vorion laser bracket allows the mounting position to be configured according to the telescope and observer requirements.
For SCT and similar optical tube assemblies, the bracket can be configured at a lower height so that the laser pointer remains relatively close to the telescope tube.
On Newtonian telescope setups, the bracket can be raised to position the laser pointer closer to the focuser area, providing easier access while observing.
The Synta-style mounting interface makes the bracket suitable for many refractors, reflectors and other telescope configurations equipped with a compatible finder shoe.
A properly aligned laser pointer provides an intuitive way to identify where the telescope is pointing in the night sky. Once the laser is aligned with the telescope's optical axis, the projected beam can assist the observer in manually pointing the telescope toward a desired region of the sky.
The adjustable mounting arrangement allows the laser direction to be fine-tuned relative to the telescope before observation.
