The Pegasus Astro Aluminum Standoff Rods are designed for building a robust half-pier extension for the NYX-101 Harmonic Drive Mount. Supplied in a set of three (3), these rods offer a simple, lightweight, and secure method to elevate your mount for better clearance and stability during observation or astrophotography.
These standoff rods can be paired with other Pegasus components to construct a 180mm (7-inch) pier extension, depending on your equipment configuration. The design ensures a solid assembly whether you are using Pegasus’s dedicated tripod or third-party tripods and piers.
Assembly Scenarios
Scenario 1 – With Pegasus Carbon Fiber Tripod
If you already own the Pegasus Astro Carbon Fiber Tripod (PEG-TRPD101), you’ll only need:

Scenario 2 – With Custom Observatory Pier or 3rd Party Pier
If using a custom or third-party fixed pier, you will need:

Scenario 3 – With Third-Party Tripod (e.g., EQ6 Tripod)
If you’re using a third-party aluminum tripod like an EQ6 model, the assembly requires:
