Celestron Nexstar 130 SLT Telescope
Celestron’s NexStar Star Location Telescope (SLT) has remained a long-time favorite among astronomy enthusiasts, thanks to its well-balanced combination of quality optics, an easy-to-use computerized system, and a robust single-fork arm mount designed for stability and reliability.
The telescope package includes a pre-assembled adjustable stainless-steel tripod, a quick-release fork arm, the NexStar+ computerized hand controller, a 130mm Newtonian reflector optical tube, along with several useful accessories to get you started right away.
Designed for convenience, the NexStar 130SLT features a simple, tool-free assembly process. Paired with Celestron’s fast SkyAlign alignment method, you’ll be ready to begin observing within minutes. This makes the telescope equally suited for spontaneous viewing sessions as well as extended nights under the stars.
With the NexStar 130SLT, observers can clearly explore lunar surface details, observe Venus and its phases, view the polar caps of Mars, track Jupiter along with its four Galilean moons, and enjoy Saturn’s iconic rings. The telescope is also versatile enough to serve as a daytime terrestrial and wildlife spotting scope.
Mount & Technology
Computerized Alt-Azimuth Mount
The NexStar SLT utilizes a single-fork alt-azimuth mount that smoothly tracks celestial objects as they move across the sky. The mount is securely supported by a pre-assembled, height-adjustable steel tripod, ensuring steady performance during observations.
NexStar+ Hand Controller
The included NexStar+ hand control allows automatic slewing to over 40,000 celestial objects at the press of a button. Its extensive database contains 600+ galaxies, 300 star clusters, and numerous striking double stars. For beginners unsure where to begin, the Sky Tour feature generates a customized list of the best objects visible based on your current time and location.
SkyAlign Technology
Celestron’s proprietary SkyAlign system simplifies telescope alignment like never before. Simply aim the telescope at any three bright objects in the sky, and the system automatically determines its position. Prior knowledge of star names is not required—you can even align using the Moon or bright planets.
Power Options
Designed for portability, the NexStar SLT can be powered by eight AA batteries (not included), making it ideal for remote observing locations. The internal battery compartment powers high-precision servo motors while eliminating cable wrap issues common with external power sources. Alternatively, the telescope can be powered using a PowerTank portable battery or a 12V AC adapter (both sold separately).
Included Accessories
The NexStar 130SLT comes complete with a StarPointer™ red-dot finderscope, a star diagonal, and two eyepieces (25mm and 9mm). These eyepieces provide both low- and high-magnification viewing options. The star diagonal ensures a more comfortable viewing angle with an upright image, while the StarPointer™ finderscope helps you quickly center objects for easy observation.
Starry Night Software
Your purchase also includes a FREE download of Celestron’s Starry Night astronomy software. This powerful program helps you learn the night sky, identify celestial objects, and plan future observing sessions. Widely regarded as one of the leading astronomy software packages available, Starry Night offers in-depth tools to explore our solar system and the universe beyond.

☀️ Solar Warning:
➠ Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or with an optic (unless you have the proper solar filter). Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result..
➠ Never use your optic to project an image of the Sun onto any surface. Internal heat build-up can damage the optic and any accessories attached to it.
➠ Never leave your optic unsupervised. Make sure an adult who is familiar with the correct operating procedures is with your optic at all times, especially when children are present.
