Lunt LS60FHa 60mm Front-Mounted Double Stack H-Alpha Solar Filter
The Lunt LS60FHa is a 60 mm aperture (no central obstruction) integrally tuned etalon designed for use with a customer-supplied refractor.
A B600 blocking filter provides full-disk solar images on telescopes with up to 540 mm focal length. Larger blocking filters are available for longer focal length telescopes. Select the filter/blocking filter package that matches your telescope and focuser size:
-
B600 – For up to 540 mm focal length, available in 1.25" or 2" diagonal
-
B1200 – For up to 1080 mm focal length, available in 1.25" or 2" diagonal
-
B1800 – For up to 1620 mm focal length, available in 1.25" or 2" diagonal
-
B3400 – For up to 3060 mm focal length, available in 2" straight-through tube
This Hydrogen-alpha filter is designed to retrofit (with adapters required) a customer-supplied telescope for daytime solar use. It can be easily removed, allowing the same telescope to be used for nighttime observation.
With an estimated bandpass of <0.70 Angstroms, the LS60FHa H-Alpha Filter delivers high-contrast views of both solar surface and limb features. Adding a second etalon (double-stacking) reduces the bandpass to approximately <0.50 Angstroms(depending on telescope), providing higher resolution for viewing and imaging.
An LS60FHa H-Alpha Filter without a blocking filter is also available for those who already own a Lunt blocking filter. A Lunt blocking filter must always be used with Lunt Ha filters for safe operation.
