Lunt LS100FHa 100mm H-Alpha Solar Filter
The Lunt LS100FHa Solar Filter features a 100 mm aperture with a Root 3 non-centralized obstruction and an integrally tuned etalon, designed for use on a customer-supplied refractor.
These Hydrogen-alpha filters are made to retrofit (with adapters required) your telescope for daytime solar observation. They can be easily removed, allowing the same instrument to be used for nighttime viewing.
With an estimated bandpass of <0.70 Angstroms, the LS100FHa Solar Filter delivers high-contrast solar views, revealing detailed surface and limb structures. When paired with an additional etalon system (double-stacked), the bandpass narrows to approximately <0.50 Angstroms (depending on the telescope), offering higher resolution for viewing or imaging. The LS100FHa model is available for this purpose or for users who already possess a Lunt blocking filter. It is important to note that a Lunt blocking filter must always be used with Lunt Ha filters for safe operation.
Attach the Lunt LS100FHa to your telescope using the included adapter (suitable for scopes up to 102 mm), or utilize it to double-stack an existing Lunt 100 mm solar telescope or filter to achieve a ~<0.5 Angstroms bandpass.
Required Accessory: A Lunt Solar Blocking Filter (sold separately) is necessary for safe solar viewing.
