Lunt LS100MT Modular Universal Telescope
The Lunt Solar Systems LS100MT is part of Lunt’s advanced Modular Telescope Series, designed to offer a complete astronomical experience with just one versatile instrument.
Featuring a 100 mm aperture, this telescope is large enough to deliver remarkable performance in every configuration while remaining compact and portable for both day and night use.
Experience breathtaking solar phenomena such as prominences, surface granulation, filaments, and active regions through Lunt’s world-class optics. Equipped with the brand’s signature Doppler True Tuning Pressure System, the LS100MT allows for ultra-fine adjustments, letting you explore every intricate detail of the Sun with unmatched precision.
Nighttime Performance – LS100MT as an Astro Refractor
When the day ends, the adventure doesn’t have to. Simply remove the Hydrogen Alpha module (diagonal) and attach a standard star diagonal (optional accessory) with an eyepiece of your choice to transform your LS100MT into a high-performance nighttime telescope.
Its FPL53 Triplet ED APO lens ensures crisp, color-accurate views of celestial objects across the Milky Way - from stars and nebulae to planets and clusters. Beyond solar and stellar observing, the LS100MT is also ideal for White Light, Calcium K, and terrestrial applications, making it a truly all-in-one optical instrument that rarely sees its storage case.
A Telescope for Every Application
The LS100MT stands out as one of the most adaptable telescopes available today. It easily transitions between Hydrogen Alpha, nighttime, terrestrial, White Light, and Calcium K modes within minutes.
In its base single-stack H-Alpha setup, it delivers a <0.7 Ångstrom bandpass, offering detailed and dynamic solar views. For users who wish to enhance contrast and depth, the optional DSII/SFPT Double Stack Module narrows the bandpass to <0.5 Ångstrom, creating a stunning 3D-like visual effect where solar features seem to leap from the surface
True Doppler Tuning – Precision Beyond Comparison
Lunt’s True Doppler Tuning System allows for precise wavelength shifting, effectively providing a three-dimensional viewing experience. While prominences (on the Sun’s limb) remain largely unaffected, filaments and surface activity respond vividly to tuning adjustments.
Observers can explore filaments from base to tip by adjusting the internal air pressure-literally following the structure toward or away from themselves. This makes the LS100MT not only a visual delight but also an exceptional research instrument for advanced observers and astrophotographers. The pressure tuning system adds a new level of precision for isolating fine solar details.
B1200 Blocking Filter (for LS100MT)
The B1200 Blocking Filter is the ideal choice for users primarily focused on visual observation. It provides a 12 mm clear aperture and works best with auto-tracking mounts.
For manual tracking or imaging, Lunt recommends the B1800 filter, which offers a wider field of view. The B1200 is housed in a 2-inch diagonal body with durable construction, ensuring clear and stable solar viewing.
