Most diagonal mirrors use BK7 optical glass, but this one takes it further with quartz glass, which is thermally more stable. The 2" chrome barrel on the telescope end is threaded to accept standard 2" filters. The diagonal also comes with a 1.25" to 2" adapter, enabling compatibility with both 1.25" and 2" eyepieces. Both eyepiece holders are equipped with brass compression rings, which secure your eyepieces without causing any scratches. Additionally, the adapter itself is threaded to accept 2" filters. Important Note:
Although the eyepiece holder and 2" nosepiece of this diagonal are designed with standard SCT threads (2" x 24TPI) compatible with various SCT accessories, the threads on the diagonal’s main body are not standard SCT threads. The diameter remains 2", but the thread pitch differs slightly (not 24 TPI), and GSO does not officially specify this. As a result, most SCT-threaded adapters from other brands may not fit properly or may not thread at all onto this GSO diagonal due to this subtle variation.
