Double stacking significantly enhances the high-definition visibility of the Sun’s surface structures. It effectively reduces the system’s bandpass from <0.7 Angstromsto <0.5 Angstroms, allowing solar surface details to stand out vividly and making the features truly “pop.”
The Lunt 80 mm and 100 mm Universal Telescopes are designed to be internally double-stacked, either at the time of purchase or any time afterward. Importantly, there is no need to return either telescope module to the factory for the double-stacking upgrade.
You can start with an 80 mm or 100 mm single-stack universal telescope and later add the SFPT to convert it into a double-stack system. This approach makes owning a Lunt Universal Telescope more cost-effective, with the flexibility for future upgrades. Once upgraded with the double-stack unit, your telescope will reveal finer solar details that were not visible before.
